Two baby boys, both 3 months, kept my shutter clicking for hours. One of my favorites was putting them with their grandparents who seemed to glow while holding the boys. It was so amazing to capture the love between such an incredible family.

Graduation
Ellie and Maggie were my first Senior Portraits and I felt like I won the lottery. They are such amazing young women. Ambitious, beautiful, talented, and truly a joy to be around. They graduated from Durango High School this weekend and are off on this next chapter of their lives.
When I talk to a Senior about their portrait, I like to get to know them before I even pull out the camera. So much of it is about capturing the personality and style of each individual.
Maggie, top left, is a bit alternative and modern. She loves bright colors and more of an artsy, urban feel. She is a photographer herself so I asked her what she would like to see from my perspective. We chose to do her portrait outside of a closed restaurant downtown that had bright blue windows, red doors, and brick background. We found a stack of old tires around the corner and took some shots there as well. She was so excited that we were able to capture a little of her alternative style.
Ellie is much more of country, nature girl. A farm located outside of town is where we went to take her photos. She sat by a pond, under the trees, interacted with the horses and really allowed me to capture her while she was enjoying scenery she felt the most comfortable in. The shoot evolved naturally and we wandered around the property finding new spots, each with a unique look. Her warm personality and bright smile shone through. Every shot was a joy to take.
Congratulations to everyone who graduated class of 2012. Whether it be high school, college, medical school, etc.. it is such an exciting adventure to walk out knowing something new is ahead of you.
